Samprapti - The Six Stages of Disease

The Six stages of disease in Ayurveda beautifully illustrates how an increase in quality and quantity of each dosha eventually spreads out of its home and settles in the weak places of our body over many years, the key to preventative medicine in Ayurveda is seeing the prodromal signs and symptoms and treating the imbalance before it manifests into a full fledge disease. At this last state of crystallization of the advanced stage of disease is usually when people go in for treatment, "Western" medicine is obsessed with this last stage of disease and usually does extreme invasive treatment to root it out. The beauty of Ayurveda is they know what the underlying imbalance is that caused the disease in the first place, this imbalance will simply go to another part of the body and cause another disorder if not treated.
